Junghans’ Mystery Swinging Elephant Clock. Clock was fully serviced and examined for defects, and the case was cleaned and shined. It has been running well in my shop and works as intended. It’s no surprise that “mystery clocks” were a sought-after timepiece in the late-1800s through the early 1900s. First made by French magician Jean Robert-Houdin in 1845, many versions were produced by the German clock factory, Junghans, and later by the Ansonia company in the U.S. These clocks were so unique in design that even the secret parts that made the hands move were patented!
